Installation Complexity

Cosmos Cloud installs as a single container but takes over ports 80 and 443:

After starting, a setup wizard walks you through domain configuration, Let’s Encrypt provisioning, admin account creation, and MongoDB initialization. The setup takes a few minutes but configures everything: proxy, SSL, auth, and security in one pass.

The catch: Cosmos needs exclusive access to ports 80 and 443. If you already run Nginx Proxy Manager, Traefik, or Caddy on those ports, you must remove it first. Cosmos replaces your reverse proxy entirely.

Open port 5001, create an admin account, start managing stacks. The one gotcha: the stacks directory path must be identical on both sides of the volume mount (/opt/stacks:/opt/stacks), and DOCKGE_STACKS_DIR must match. Get this wrong and Dockge will not detect your stacks.

Cosmos uses 4-6x more memory than Dockge. That is expected — it runs a reverse proxy, auth system, VPN module, DDoS protection, and database internally.
