Is 2.5GbE enough or should I go straight to 10GbE?
2.5GbE is a great middle ground if your storage can’t saturate 10GbE anyway. If your NAS has spinning disks (sequential read ~150-200 MB/s), 2.5GbE (~280 MB/s) is plenty. If your NAS has SSDs or a fast RAID array, go 10GbE.
Can I mix 10GbE and 1GbE on the same network?

Do I need Cat6a for 10GbE?
